BP Moves Ahead
The famous initials, "BP," now embedded in a beautifully
embossed, earth friendly green and yellow motif, fittingly radiates
the luster of an oil company whose rich history stretches from
the early 1900's Persian oil, onward to today's environmentally
friendly fuels and alternative energy. Although its activities
began in 1901, the trade name "British Petroleum" was
taken in 1917, 51% then owned by the British Government. Over
the years, through its mergers and acquisitions, BP has skillfully
continued its ever-expanding operations. Its surprising resume
looks like a ledger. Its amazing energy sales are now the highest
in the world. Already a leader in solar panels, and pursuing wind
and hydrogen power, BP looks expectantly ahead. That's why the
"BP" in its new logo means "Beyond Petroleum."
Fitting, indeed.
